What are Clinical Dental Technicians?

Clinical dental technicians are members of the dental profession who make dentures. We are unique in that we see patients for the clinical aspects as well as the behind the scenes construction of oral prostheses.

Clinical dental technicians are not dentists.

We start in the back room as dental technicians where we use our skills to construct the restorations that dentists use. Through further training we go on to learn the clinical parts of taking the molds and fitting dentures.

This gives a clinical dental technicians a unique and very practical perspective.

The advantage of seeing a clinical dental technician is that you are working directly with the person who will be making your dentures.

Clinical dental technicians are allowed to undertake non-invasive treatments. We work as part of the greater dental team and are health professionals registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand.
